First Responder Programs
The CPR & AED Certification Course is a 7-hour comprehensive course designed to meet the training and continuing education requirements of targeted responders. This is a dual certification in 1 & 2 Rescuer CPR & Defibrillation. This program includes:
- Medical Oversight
- AED Event Data Downloading, Review & Reporting
- Policy & Procedure Development
This course is personal hands-on training with a Paramedic Instructor. Maximum student to Instructor ratio is 8:1. This program meets the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada guidelines for defibrillation training to Targeted Responders. The training is manufacturer specific. Each student will practice various scenarios with the AED.
The objective of the program is to strengthen the Chain of Survival and provide training on automatic external defibrillators (AED’s) to targeted responders in all Canadian communities.
Throughout the course participants increase their familiarity with the concepts, principles and practices of defibrillation while increasing their level of confidence, competence, and ease of use of AED devices.
