Emergency First Aid Course

A one-day first aid course combining Adult and Child CPR and choking, heart attacks and strokes, recognition and treatment of bleeding, shock, bone & joint injuries, diabetic emergencies, seizures, and burns. This course also serves as a Standard First Aid Recertification.

Basic First Aid Course

This 4-hour first aid course is ideal for office workers, coaches and trainers or companies with low occupational risk. It focuses on what to do until the ambulance arrives. Topics include adult and child CPR, choking, heart attacks, strokes, bleeding, bone & joint injuries, head injuries, burns, seizures and diabetic emergencies.

Standard First Aid Course

A 16 hour combination first aid course and Heartsaver A level CPR program. Day 1 is Emergency First Aid and CPR followed by a second day which includes recognition & treatment for head & spinal injuries, heat & cold injuries, poisons, asthmatic attacks, allergic reactions, bites, stings, and eye injuries, plus an assortment of practical scenarios designed to reinforce participants’ skills and confidence. This is a dual certification in Standard First Aid & Heartsaver A CPR. This program meets the curriculum requirements of the Workers Compensation Act ( Reg. 1101) of Ontario, The Canada Labour Code and is approved for workplace training by the Workers' Safety & Insurance Board, Health Canada and the Ontario Ministry of Health & Long-Term Care.

Junior Medic Program

This 45-60 minute program is directed towards children as an introduction to safety, prevention and first aid. The main emphasis is on safety, prevention and accessing help in the community. Paramedic facilitators will re-emphasize the importance of helmets, car safety systems and how to identify helpers in the community such as Paramedics, Police and Firefighters through lecture & class participation.

Child Care First Aid Course

A child-specific 4-hour program which includes CPR certification. This course focuses on specific emergency medical situations involving children and different approaches to their treatment. Segments include discussions on head injuries, severe allergic reactions & use of the Epi-Pen, asthma attacks, bleeding, choking, seizures and when to call 911.

Safe Start

Safe Start is delivered to parents & is designed to prevent unintentional injuries among children from birth to eight years of age. Topics include prevention of falls, scalds, poisonings, and motor vehicle injuries. Infant & child CPR certification is included in this program. Injuries are the number one cause of death and disability among Canadian children. This program is designed to help keep children safe by providing information on how to prevent injuries.

Credible, community Paramedics teach The Safe Start Program. The safety information they provide has a strong impact. Safety messages are reinforced through the use of booklets, testimonials and lecture.
