Local experience makes the training personal.

HeartSafe EMS has served the community for 25 years in Caledon and has spent 30 years building practical readiness through training, AED support and long-term care.

Keep skills fresh

Annual hands-on practice is a recommendation—not an extra certificate.

HeartSafe EMS recommends an annual hands-on refresher in CPR, AED use and choking response. This supports confidence between formal certifications; it does not change the validity period of an Ontario workplace first aid certificate.

  • Recognize cardiac, breathing and choking emergencies
  • Call for help quickly and begin effective CPR
  • Use an AED confidently and work as a team
  • Include child and infant CPR, rescue breaths and choking response when the setting requires it

Ontario workplace context

Choose the level that matches the workplace.

Under the current Ontario First Aid Program, workplaces with six or more people on a shift require at least one Intermediate First Aid certificate; workplaces with five or fewer people on a shift require at least one Basic First Aid certificate.
